Our photographs are about painting

Contrary to the paintings that introduce a computer treatment into the pictural field, Les Ciels [Skies] seek to push back the limits of silver photography, precluding any manipulations. A cloudless blue sky, with no pollution, in an urban setting, frontality, precision of the sighting, constitute the only protocol. Here it’s about an illusory attempt to approach an ideal image.

À l’inverse des peintures qui introduisent l’informatique dans le champ pictural, les Ciels cherchent à repousser les limites de la photographie argentique, excluant toutes manipulations. Ciel bleu sans nuages, absence de pollution dans un milieu urbain, frontalité, précision de la visée, en constituent l’unique protocole. Il s’agit, ici, d’une tentative illusoire d’approcher une image idéale.
